This study aims to search for effective therapeutic approach for children with ADHD by understanding their symptoms as well as their difficulties. This researcher will review the relationships between executive function deficits of Children with ADHD and their symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity. Then, the effectiveness and limitations of psycho-stimulants, the major intervention for children with ADHD, will be reviewed. To understand executive function deficits of Children with ADHD in analytical perspective, this research will review Jung's archetypal psychology, the theories of Erich Neumann as well as Erick Edinger, and Jungian sandplay therapy. Finally this researcher will analysis a clinical case of child with ADHD based on Jungian sandplay therapy. The result is that the sandplay therapy provided for child with ADHD a safe place to explore his difficulty and assisted him to meet the Self who would revitalize his fragile self so that he could reduce symptoms of ADHD and increase social skills.

In this qualitative research study, we explored the sustainability factors of counselors who received continuous counseling after qualification. We conducted individual, face-to face interviews with four counselors for two weeks between May and June 2018. The second and third data collection phases involved follow-up by phone or email where necessary. We applied topic analysis to our data and in the process arrived at four perspectives on the sustainability factors of supervision. The four themes were 'Being helpful,' 'Being a good learning experience,' 'Recognizing the need for a third party,' and 'Discovering possibilities.' 'Being helpful' is the factor of continuing the supervision and involves 'Being psychologically stable,' 'Knowing one's limits' and 'Deepening the understanding of clients.' We classified 'Being a good learning experience' as 'Reflecting on oneself,' 'Learning through participation and observation' and 'Understanding human beings.' We defined 'Recognizing the need for a third party' as the ability of counselors to see their blind spots. The fourth persistent factor is 'Discovering possibilities,' and applies equally to both the counselor and the client as they discover their potential.

The symbolism of the willow, with its healing energy for addiction, can be considered in terms of its religious, folkloric, and mythological aspects as in Marion Woodman's book The Ravaged Bridegroom - Masculinity in Women. This study concerned the healing process of a female client formerly obsessed with an addiction not separated from the Self. The client grasped the willow as a symbol of female energy and subsequently was reborn with renewed feminine vitality. The female healing energy of the willow connected her abandoned body to her soul. The vitality of the willow empowered the client to heal her animus of addiction, learn what her body wanted from the boundary of life and death, and realize what her soul desired. Her body, through consciousness raising, truly embraced the deity, or Self, which she had struggled unilaterally before to connect with herself. The totality, created by archetypes, meant a deep base of personality, accepted consciousness and unconsciousness and transcended the ego.

4沙盤游戱療法對中學二年級學生PTSD的干預硏究

目的是爲了探討沙盤游戱療法對中學生PTSD心理干預的成效和有效性。本硏究利用沙盤游戱療法對一例PTSD的中學二年級男生進行了6次沙盤游戱治療, 對6次沙盤作品的變化趨勢進行描述分析, 硏究沙盤游戱療法對靑少年創傷后應激障碍的心理矫治過程及效果。結果發現沙盤游戱療法干預后PTSD 總分由干預前的72分降低爲干預后的32分, 說明沙盤游戱療法可有效緩解改善中學生的PTSD症狀。半年后追踪評估表明來訪者各項指標均維持在正常常模的范圍內。結論是沙盤游戱療法對緩解和改善靑少年PTSD症狀有明顯的干預效果。


This study aimed to explore whether sandplay therapy could offer an effective psychological intervention for middle school students with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We conducted sandplay therapy on six occasions with second-grade middle school students with PTSD and subsequently observed a significant decrease in their PTSD total scores. Our follow-up assessments of the subjects six months later showed that the related indicators remained within an acceptable range. Based on these results, we have concluded that sandplay therapy offers an effective psychological intervention for teenagers with PTSD.

This study analyzes the effects of group sandplay therapy on anger control and interpersonal relationship problems among university students. The subjects were 24 students from 1st to 4th grades at N University in Chungcheongnam-do. To determine the effectiveness of the group sandplay program, we subsequently conducted a one-way ANCOVA with SPSS 25 for both the experimental and control groups. We found the program to have significant positive effects on anger control and interpersonal problem improvement in the experimental group compared to the control group. The results lead us to conclude that group sandplay therapy is conducive to controlling the emotions and improving interpersonal relationships among university students.

This study intends to investigate the characteristics of the jar and examine their symbolism in literature and further the symbolic meanings of the jars, which clients of various developmental tasks used during sandplay therapy. For middle-aged clients who had to go through an individuation process, the jar signified motherhood and femininity that bring a new change to an insecure relationship with the mother; or the waiting place where women spend long hours of patience and silence until their distress and torment are ripened and transformed. For adolescent student with the developmental task of reaching a rite of passage, the jar acts as a place for death and regeneration where independence from the mother is led to the growth of the ego. The jar represents new expectancy and hope. The jar serves as motherhood who embraces clients who were brought up by negative parents, and also as a vessel of the ego to encourage femininity to go on a journey for beautiful growth. This study is significant in identifying the various symbolic meanings of the jar.
