1재생에너지 기반 그린 수소 생산 시스템의 기술 경제성 분석

Worldwide, there is a significant surge in the efforts for addressing the issue of global warming; the use of renewable energy is one of the solutions proposed to mitigate global warming. However, severe volatility is a critical disadvantage, and thus, power-to-gas technology is considered one of best solutions for energy storage. Hydrogen is a popular candidate from the perspective of both environment and economics. Accordingly, a hydrogen production system based on renewable energy sources is developed, and the economics of the system are assessed. The result of the base case shows that the unit cost of hydrogen production would be 6,415 won/kg H2, with a hydrogen production plant based on a 100 MW akaline electrolyzer and 25% operation rate, considering renewable energy sources with no electricity cost payment. Sensitivity study results show that the range of hydrogen unit cost efficiency can be 2,293 to 6,984 Won/kg H2, depending on the efficiency and unit cost of the electrolyzer. In case of electrolyzer operation rate and electricity unit cost, sensitivity study results show that hydrogen unit cost is in the range 934-26,180 won/kg H2.

Hydrogen is an green energy without pollution. Recently, fuel cell electric vehicle has been commercialized, and many studies have been conducted on hydrogen tanks for vehicles. The hydrogen tank for vehicles can be charged up to 70 MPa pressure. In this study, the change in filling time, pressure, and temperature for each hydrogen level in a 59 L hydrogen tank was predicted by numerical analysis. The injected hydrogen has the properties of real gas, the temperature is -40℃, and the mass flow rate is injected into the tank at 35 g/s. The initial tank internal temperature is 25℃. Realizable k-epsilon turbulence model was used for numerical analysis. As a result of numerical analysis, it was predicted that the temperature, charging time, and the mass of injected hydrogen increased as the residual capacity of hydrogen is smaller.

Recently, renewable power is rapidly increasing globally due to extensive effort to mitigate climate change and conventional power generation industry faces new challenges. The gas turbine technology has potentials to expand its role in future power generation based on the intrinsic characteristics such as fuel diversity and fast load following ability. Hydrogen is one of the most promising fuel in terms of reducing emissions and storing variable renewable energy and replacing hydrocarbon fuel with hydrogen has become very popular. Therefore, this paper presents the core technologies to combust hydrogen added fuel efficiently in gas turbines and the analysis of domestic and international R&D trends.

Recently, the technologies to utilize the cold energy of liquefied natural gas (LNG) have attracted significant attention. In this paper, thermodynamic performance analysis of combined cycles consisting of ammonia Rankine cycle (AWR) and organic Rankine cycle (ORC) with LNG Rankine cycle to recover low-grade heat source and the cold energy of LNG. The mathematical models are developed and the effects of the important system parameters such as turbine inlet pressure, ammonia mass fraction, working fluid on the system performance are systematically investigated. The results show that the thermal efficiency of AWR-LNG cycle is higher but the total power production of ORC-LNG cycle is higher.

Ammonia-hydrogen dual-fuel engine is a way to reduce greenhouse gas emission because ammonia and hydrogen are carbon-free fuels. In ammonia- hydrogen dual-fuel engine, hydrogen is supplied to improve the combustion characteristic of ammonia. In this study, an ammonia reformer was developed to supply hydrogen for 10 kW class ammonia-hydrogen dual-fuel engine. Thermodynamic characteristic and catalyst were investigated for ammonia reforming. Heat transfer was important for high ammonia conversion of ammonia reformer. 99% of ammonia conversion was obtained when 10 LPM of ammonia and 610℃ of hot gas were supplied to the ammonia reformer.

This paper represents an analysis of the economic impact of firing natural gas/diesel and natural gas/by-product oil mixtures in diesel engine power plants. The objects of analysis is a power plant with electricity generation capacity (300 kW). Using performance data of original diesel engines, the fuel consumption characteristics of the duel fuel engines were simulated. Then, economic assessment was carried out using the performance data and the net present value method. A special focus was given to the evaluation of fuel cost saving when firing natural gas/diesel and natural gas/by-product oil mixtures instead of the pure diesel firing case. Analyses were performed by assuming fuel price changes in the market as well as by using current prices. The analysis results showed that co-firing of natural gas/diesel and natural gas/by-product oil would provide considerable fuel cost saving, leading to meaningful economic benefits.

A parametric study of a 2.5 kW class propeller type micro hydraulic turbine was performed. In order to analyze the internal flow characteristics in the hydraulic turbine, three dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with shear stress transport turbulence model were used and the hexahedral grid system was used to construct computational domain. To secure the reliability of the numerical analysis, the grid dependency test was performed using the grid convergence index method based on the Richardson extrapolation, and the grid dependency was removed when about 1.7 million nodes were used. For the parametric study, the axial distance at shroud span (L) between the inlet guide vane and the runner, and the inlet and outlet blade angles (β1, β2) of the runner were selected as the geometric parameters. The inlet and outlet angles of the runner were defined in the 3 spans from the hub to tip, and a total of 7 geometric parameters were investigated. It was confirmed that the outlet angles of the runner had the most sensitive effect on the power and efficiency of the micro hydraulic turbine.

In this paper, the performance characteristics of the impeller and volute in the 2 vane pump were investigated using response surface method (RSM) with commercial computation fluid dynamics (CFD) code. Design variables were defined with the impeller blade angle and volute area distribution. The objective functions were defined as the total head, total efficiency and solid material size of the 2 vane pump. The design optimization of the design variables was determined using the RSM. The numerical results for the reference and optimum models were compared and discussed in this work.
