1하이브리드 능직 탄소-아라미드 섬유 복합재의 모드 I 파괴인성에 대한 실험적 연구

Carbon fiber has excellent specific strength, corrosion resistance and heat resistance. And p-Aramid fiber has high toughness and heat resistance and high elasticity, and is used in various fields such as industrial protective materials, bulletproof helmets and vests, as well as industrial fields. However, carbon fiber is relatively expensive, and is susceptible to brittle fracture behavior due to its low fracture strain. On the other hand, the aramid fiber tends to decrease in elastic modulus and strength when applied to the epoxy matrix, but it is inexpensive and has higher elongation and fracture toughness than carbon fiber. Thus the twill hybrid carbonaramid fiber reinforced composite laminate composite was investigated for a delamination fracture toughness under Mode I loading by 2 kinds of MBT and MCC deduction. The specimen was fabricated with 20 hybrid fabric plies. The initial crack was made by inserting the teflon tape in the center plane with a0/W=0.5 length. The results show that SERR(Strain Energy Release Rate) as the critical and stable delamination fracture toughness were 0.09 kJ/m2, 0.386 kJ/m2 by MBT deduction, and 0.192 kJ/m2, 0.67 kJ/m2 by MCC deduction, respectively.

2SM490A의 FCAW 용접 자세별 형상에 관한 기계적 특성 연구

Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), which has been widely used in many industries, was developed in the 1950s to supplement shortcomings of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). FCAW has an advantage in that it can weld regardless of postures and give good quality results in the filed with many different working conditions. In this study, SM490A (rolled steel for welding structural purpose) with different thicknesses (L:25T+R:30T) were welded using FCAW. Then the mechanical properties (tension test, bending test, hardness test, impact test and macro test) were analyzed and the following conclusions were drawn. In the tensile test, it exceeds the KS standard tensile strength range (400~510) in all welding positions, which means there is a problem in the tensile force transmission performance. In the bending test, it was found that most of the specimens did not exhibit surface rupture or other defects during bending test and they exhibit sufficient toughness even after plastic deformation. In the hardness test, all the results were lower than the standard value of 350 Hv of KS B 0893, which means they have good hardness. In the impact test, all results were larger than the KS reference value of 27J. In the macro test, they showed uniform structure state by the shape of the weld, and there was risk of lamination because no internal defects, bubbles, or impurities were found on the surface of the weld.

Leakage accidents in businesses dealing with hazardous chemicals can have a great impact on the workers inside the workplace, as well as residents outside the workplace. In fact, there were cases where hazardous chemicals leaked from many businesses. As a result, the Chemicals Control Act(CCA) was enacted in 2015, the Ministry of Environment introduced an Off-site Risk Assessment(ORA). The purpose of the ORA is to secure safety from the installation of the design of the workplace facilities so that chemical accidents of hazardous chemical handling facilities do not cause human or physical damage outside the workplace. In general, the ORA qualitatively determines where a protected facility is within the scope of the accident scenario. However, elderly who belong to the sensitive group is more sensitive than the general group under the same chemical accident effect, and the extent of the damage is serious. According to data from the Korea National Statistic Office, the number of elderly people is expected to increase steadily. Therefore, a quantitative risk analysis considering the elderly is necessary as a result of a chemical accident. In this study, accident scenarios for 14 locations were set up to perform emergency evacuation due to toxic gas leakage of Cl2(Chlorine) and HF(Hydrogen Fluoride), and the effects of exposure were analyzed based on the evacuation velocity difference of age 20s and 60s. The ALOHA(Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres) program was used to calculate the concentration for assessing the effects. The time of exposure to toxic gas was calculated based on the time it took for the evacuation to run from the start point to the desired point and a methodology was devised that could be applied to the risk calculation. As a result of the study, the relative risk of the elderly, the sensitive group, needs to be determined.

In South Korea, the enact of Korean Coast Guard Act-1 manages physical and chemical oil-dispersants. Oil snare, which is made of polypropylene, is newly added to the aforementioned act, and it has advantage on the ease of recovery compare to other adsorbents. This study synthesized bunker B-oil with diesel-oil and bunker C-oil to perform an adsorption test based on three samples which were manufactured in South Korea. As a result, adsorption test revealed 5.2 g/g more adsorption than the previous results from the act. Additional toluene test revealed that all the samples satisfied 90.0%, however coloured samples could release its pigment on the marine environment. Thus, colorless samples are recommended on the risk management of marine accidents. The study on the basic direction of the calculation of the test items and the standard value for the quality control of the oil snare was also carried out.

Since construction sites are exposed to outdoor environments, working conditions are significantly dangerous. Thus, wearing of the personal protective equipments such as safety helmet is very important for worker safety. However, construction workers are often wearing-off the helmet as inconvenient and uncomportable. As a result, a small mistake may lead to serious accident. For this, checking of wearing safety helmet is important task to safety managers in field. However, due to the limited time and manpower, the checking can not be executed for every individual worker spread over a large construction site. Therefore, if an automatic checking system is provided, field safety management should be performed more effectively and efficiently. In this study, applicability of deep learning based computer vision technology is investigated for automatic checking of wearing safety helmet in construction sites. Faster R-CNN deep learning algorithm for object detection and classification is employed to develop the automatic checking model. Digital camera images captured in real construction site are used to validate the proposed model. Based on the results, it is concluded that the proposed model may effectively be used for automatic checking of wearing safety helmet in construction site.

While the overall industrial accident rate has been decreased, but those of the construction industry has not been. For safety management during the planning/design phase, which accounts for 45% of the cause of accident at the construction site, Design For Safety (DFS) was established to minimize a hazard and risk in 2016. Currently, DFS system has difficulty settling down in Korea due to the several reasons. So, this paper aims to propose to the Key Success Factor (KSF) and related action plan to improve DFS system. This study was conducted by following 2 steps: i) identification of problems on current DFS, and ii) proposal of KSF and following action plan for DFS. The DFS in Korea was compared with UK, Singapore, Australia, and US on 7 criteria (application target, execution period, change of design, collaboration among participants, expert participants, alternative review and decision support system). DFS was compared with other countries's system based on the identical criteria and the corresponding improvement measures were also proposed. The results of this study can be utilized to improve DFS system in various aspects.

In this study, various types of deep learning models that have been proposed recently are classified according to data input / output types and analyzed to find the deep learning model suitable for constructing a crack detection model. First the deep learning models are classified into image classification model, object segmentation model, object detection model, and instance segmentation model. ResNet-101, DeepLab V2, Faster R-CNN, and Mask R-CNN were selected as representative deep learning model of each type. For the comparison, ResNet-101 was implemented for all the types of deep learning model as a backbone network which serves as a main feature extractor. The four types of deep learning models were trained with 500 crack images taken from real concrete structures and collected from the Internet. The four types of deep learning models showed high accuracy above 94% during the training. Comparative evaluation was conducted using 40 images taken from real concrete structures. The performance of each type of deep learning model was measured using precision and recall. In the experimental result, Mask R-CNN, an instance segmentation deep learning model showed the highest precision and recall on crack detection. Qualitative analysis also shows that Mask R-CNN could detect crack shapes most similarly to the real crack shapes.

Over the past decades there has been a growing body of researches that examines the psychological traits related to safety outcomes. After briefly reviewing the relationships between psychological dispositions and safety outcomes, we empirically examine the relationships with 2 samples of 1,102 participants. Fifteen psychological dispositions (big 5 personality, locus of control, cognitive failure, affection from job and relations, 4 achievement goal orientations, self-efficacy, fatigue, and depression) and four psychological outcomes (safe behavior, unsafe behavior, accidents, and injuries) are examined. After covariance structure modeling variances of safety outcomes are well explained by simple 4 dispositions of consciousness, mastery-approach goal orientation, self-efficacy, and depression. We name them 'core safety disposition', and name four psychological outcomes 'safety consciousness', and the relationships between those latent variables are stronger than between measurement variables. We propose core safety disposition as a cause of safety consciousness, and discuss implications for research and practices.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of safety culture on the safety awareness and safety behaviors of manufacturing workers, and to suggest ways for manufacturing workers to understand the safety culture and improve safety awareness and safety behavior. In order to verify this, data were collected from 282 research subjects for 1 month from August 1 to 31, 2018, using the manufacturing workers in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area as a population. The results of the study are as follows. First, the safety culture (safety climate, safety procedures) has a positive effect on the safety awareness (recognition of importance, interest and participation inducement) of the manufacturing workers. Second, the safety culture (safety climate, safety procedures) has a positive effect on the safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. Third, safety awareness (recognition of importance, interest and inducement of participation) has a positive influence on the safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. Fourth, the safety awareness (recognition of importance, interest and inducement of participation) appears to have a partial mediating effect in relation to safety culture (safety climate, safety procedure) and safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. The implication of this study is that although the industrial accidents have occurred in the manufacturing industry in recent years, the studies on the workers in the manufacturing industry are insufficient. However, this study is meaningful that it has suggested ways for manufacturing workers to understand the safety culture and improve the safety awareness and safety behavior by analyzing the effects of safety culture on safety awareness and safety behavior of manufacturing workers.

This study was conducted to check the cabin crew's safety perception in relation to the airline's safety climate and cabin crew's safety action and to verify that the safety perception's mediation effects. The results of the study confirmed that all three factors of the safety climate have a significant impact on safety perception, and among them, safety practice is the most significant. Accordingly, Airlines need to establish a community that enables real-time information exchange for air accidents so that the cabin crew can present real-time examples of safety-related accidents. In addition, it will be necessary to work with external safety agencies to form an active attitude for the establishment of safety procedures in order to prevent recurrence of safety problems while considering the causes of such incidents internally in the event of an airline safety accident. In addition, it was confirmed that safety training was the most significant factor to safety action, among which all three elements of the safety climate had a significant effect on safety action. Therefore, airlines need to expand practical training on aircraft to full-scale safety training to build an immediate resolution for cabin crews in the event of an air accident. In addition, safety training should be established to encourage collaboration among aviation safety-related personnel to participate in safety training together to address aviation safety from a diverse point of view. Safety perception was has a significant effect on safe action. Therefore, airlines should reinforce the airline's safety management system by checking the status of the cabin crew's safety perception extending the level of punishment to the scope of retirement or disqualification to establish a firm awareness of safety. Finally, the safety perception has demonstrated partial mediation effects in relation to the safety climate and safety action. Therefore, the airline needs to improve the duties of the cabin crew that interferes with cabin safety duties. In addition, airlines should utilize advertisements emphasizing that safety is first.
