Education that prepares students for a better future must be framed concretely and systematically for sustainability. In addition, such a preparation should not only focus on one subject but be an amalgamation of all subjects.
Ecological literature education can be identified by three dimensions: literary, educational, and social education. First, literary education should reflect changes in Korean literature. Recently, the volume of ecological literary works in Korean literature has increased significantly, and the ecological critical viewpoint has become one of the trends. Therefore, in literary education, there is a growing need to properly deal with and examine these literary trends. Second, literary education should be in response to the expansion of convergence education. Ecological literature education is a typical field where convergence education is possible and necessary and where academic achievements, knowledge, and experiences in various fields such as ecology, sociology, economics, politics, and pedagogy, as well as literature, must be combined. Third, it should nurture ecological literacy socially. The emotional and imaginative education that can be effectively raised through ecological literature education, such as emotional empathy on ecological and environmental issues, concern for nature, and imagination to seek alternatives, should be strengthened.
Ecological literature education raises critical awareness of environmental issues and develops eco-sensitivity through literature. In order to effectively implement ecological literature education, it is desirable to pursue integrated classes with other related subjects and, furthermore, a form of convergence education. Ecological literature education can play a significant role in education in the future by cultivating ecological literacy.

This study aims to assess the narrative characteristics of letter-based web fictions and webtoons among digital narratives and consider their entertainment features in order to examine the directionality of literary education for digital generation learners.
The development of digital media brought about changes in not only content and the form of narrative but also reading habits in general. In particular, web fictions and webtoons are gaining popularity among teenagers as typical "Snack culture." Web fictions present narrative characteristics similar to those of serial stories in newspapers, in the sense that they are regularly published in a series in a specific unit and include illustrations. owever, based on two features of the media of web and commercial potential, web fictions have been developing as a popular narrative genre with higher readability than that of serial novels in newspapers. Dialogue-centered development, insertion of attractive illustrations, and repetition of narrative formula contribute toward improving readability and the compelling power of web fictions. Webtoons create a sense of tension and speed through vertical scrolls, screen composition, and margins and deliver the dialogues and ideas of characters through diverse forms of speech balloons. Moreover, webtoons also bring in a sense of reality to narratives and increase interest and engagement by inserting multimedia, such as sound, music, photos, and videos, in the illustrations.
The introduction of hypertext makes it possible for web fictions and webtoons to present openness, participation, and sharing beyond the text-text and creator-user boundary. Readers of web fictions and webtoons get actively involved in the works and begin to enjoy the narrative that transforms into a variety of media such as dramas and games, rather than merely endorsing their favorite works in a one-way direction. Furthermore, they even expand the world of a text through fan fictions.
Since today's digital generation is strongly accustomed to digital narratives that are visual, popular, and bilateral, they might find it difficult to enjoy and understand letter-centered literature. Nevertheless, this does not imply that their literary competencies are insufficient compared to the previous generation, but both are simply different. Specifically, today's digital generation enjoys new digital narratives based on the decoding abilities with respect to multimode, bidirectionality, and transformation capacities in relation to text-text and media-media. It is imperative that today's literature education should deal with the characteristics of more diverse narratives and the methods of enjoyment that are apt for digital generation learners.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the curriculum contents related to the reflection of the use of language in media are embodied in textbooks and to suggest improvements. For this purpose, I analyzed how the reflection of the use of language in media, which is a content element of the 2015 revised Korean language curriculum, was implemented in the 'Language and Media' textbook. Based on the results of the analysis, I suggested how to design textbook activities of reflection of use of language in media. First, in order to enable reflection as the subject of 'we', it was suggested to construct a learning action to synchronize group reflection based on the common interests of class members and to ensure interactive continuity throughout the reflection process. Second, in order to allow learners to experience the attributes of reflection more fully, it was proposed to construct the contents of the reflection behavior by harmoniously reflecting the cognitive, affective, aesthetic, and moral attributes of the reflection behavior in learning activities.

In this study, I proposed a plan to reconstruct the Korean language curriculum based on the IB's unit design in order to realize the competency-based curriculum at the teacher level and to encourage active teacher-level reconstruction of Korean language curriculum. IB's unit design encourage active teacher-level reconstruction of curriculum by respecting teachers' autonomy and professionalism. It also has the advantage of systematically connecting objectives and assessments and optimizing learning content based on a backward design model. Therefore, this study developed capacity-based curriculum reorganization plan at the teacher level using the IB's unit design and applied it to the 2015 curriculum. This has the following advantages. First, capacity-based curriculum at the teacher level can be realized by having the criteria reconstructed based on competency. Second, teacher-level curriculum reconstruction is activated by providing a systematic curriculum reorganization framework. Third, unit design based on the backward design ensures optimal learning content and consistency of objectives and assessments.

Appeals for the introduction of public education by the IBDP are interpreted as arguments that the written test should be able to replace the multiple-choice test, and that it is important to create conditions to support it. We would like to examine on what conditions the IBDP has made the written test a substitute rather than a complement to the multiple-choice test, and whether such conditions have been created.
First, IBDP made the curriculum simple. Second, it respected the autonomy of the class. Third, since it divided the appraisers into two, it was confirmed that the written test could replace multiple-choice tests. In general, progressive changes to create such conditions are being identified in the revised 2015 curriculum. For educational innovation, written tests should be able to replace multiple-choice tests, and appropriate conditions should be established in the three aspects of curriculum-class-assessment. That is the reason IBDP has also been mentioned as an alternative, and it needs to be deliberated in the introduction of public education.

This study applied a paradigm model based on the methodology of grounded theory of Strauss and Corbin (1990), analyzed the pre-service Korean language arts teachers' problem recognition on the principles of conversation in an educational context, and suggested the teaching and learning direction of speech knowledge.
Educational implications for teaching and learning speech knowledge derived from 48 participants' data are as follows: first, speech knowledge should be identified in conjunction with practical activities; second, the concept of speech should be perceived in a balanced manner, including the addressee's judgment and comprehension (i.e., "listening"), away from what was defined as merely the addresser's regulatory compliance and expression (i.e., "speaking"); and third, conditional knowledge should be developed to manage prepositional and procedural knowledge and help learners' metacognition.
This study is meaningful in that it considers both the internal and external factors in a balanced manner and approaches speech knowledge as a socio-scientific issue.

This study reviewed the feature of literacy and teaching vocabulary suggested in Korean language education based on the discussion of literacy that can be approached at the content subject, and through this, it was intended to confirm the direction of vocabulary education on content subject.
To this end, I first looked at the features of content area literacy and disciplinary literacy, and the literacy of CCSS reflecting this, and confirmed the content and direction of the vocabulary education they emphasized. Also, based on the perspectives of literacy and curriculum literacy in the content area, I reviewed the educational approach of literacy and vocabulary related to content subject reflected in Korean language education.
This study suggested the following three approaches to the vocabulary education for content subject. First, both the vocabulary acquisition strategy and the vocabulary itself should be the purpose of teaching vocabulary for content subject. Second, it is necessary to clarify the class of vocabulary to be noticed and emphasized in literacy for content subject and to materialize the content of the education. Third, it is necessary to expand the approach to vocabulary emphasized by the disciplinary literacy in the content subject literacy activity.

The aim of this study is to analyze the consolation strategies and concrete consolation expressions that have never been addressed in the field of Korean language education for native speakers.
For this purpose, I examine the use of consolation strategies through drama discourse. The strategy analysis framework established in this paper is as follows. First, the strategy was divided into direct and indirect strategies. Direct strategies include empathy, anxiety, helping, encouraging, reassuring, suggesting alternatives, expressing opinions, emphasizing positive aspects, presenting positive outlook, expressing hope, shifting the responsibility to others, acknowledging, using customary expressions, using ritual expressions, sharing experiences, comparing, and generalizing. Indirect strategies are joking, rejuvenating, asking questions, reprimanding, calling names, and back-channeling.
Next, I analyzed the lexical and grammatical features related to consolation strategies. Accordingly, I discussed 1) “uri(우리)” used in shifting responsibility to others, 2) the connective ending “-jiman(-지만)” used in expressing opinions, and 3) negative expressions used for reassuring.

This study seeks to analyze the common usage of Korean quantifiers written by Korean and foreign undergraduates and recommend the educational contents for teaching the use of a quantifier. For this purpose, 362 examination answers written by 62 Korean and 356 examination answers written by 62 foreigners were collected for two semesters. Based on the analysis of examination answers, quantifiers, numeral classifiers, numeral determiners, and numeral phrases were analyzed by group. The study found that 263 of the 1,027 numeral phrases written by foreigners contained errors. The usage of several quantifiers such as "hana, han," "cheosjjae, cheos beonjjae," "uli, jeohui," "modeun, modu," "geujung, jung," "deul, manhda, yeoleo,", "deung, deungdeung," and "gak, gakgak" were analyzed in detail. Through this analysis, four types of educational contents for teaching quantifiers were set up: specifying quantifiers and numeral determiners, teaching how to create the noun phrase, presenting the co-occurrence between the quantifier and others, and teaching quantifiers through the spoken or written language.

The purpose of this study is to develop an empirically verified grading scale description using the 'performance data-driven approach' suggested by Fulcher(1987). This study focuses on creating a standardized category of the discourse features for Korean language learners depending on their discourse competence. The data used in the study were collected from 50 Korean language learners by conducting a CBT speaking test using the 'REFUSAL' task. The speech data were graded by five raters, and the speech samples were categorized into five different groups according to their grading results. Additionally, the speech data were transcribed and analyzed using discourse analysis. According to the analysis, five groups of different discourse competence level demonstrated distinct discourse features. The group with the highest level of discourse competence showed a complete four or three level discourse structure and a coherent discourse equivalent to the native Korean speakers. Furthermore, the group with a higher level discourse competence expressed its willingness to help and apologized more. Meanwhile, the groups with a lower level discourse competence displayed incomplete discourse structures and numerous negative factors such as repetitions and direct refusal expressions. The results of this study can be utilized not only as objective data for developing a speaking scale description for the Korean language speaking test, but also for the development of effective teaching discourse method, rater training courses and instrumental textbooks.
