This study investigated consumer perceptions of information provided in a fashion Instagram. This study examined the differences between information provided in Instagram by brand vs consumers. A pilot test was conducted to develop stimuli and a brand selection in the main study. Participants were randomly assigned to one of two stimuli manipulated by information providers, and examined the perceived credibility, usefulness, and enjoyment of information as well as brand attachment and purchase intention. We gathered and analyzed a total of 200 data. The findings of the study showed that respondents perceived significantly greater usefulness and purchase intention of images uploaded by consumers compared to the fashion brand. Credibility and enjoyment were significant factors to enhance brand attachment; in addition, usefulness, credibility, and enjoyment were significant factors to increase purchase intention. The findings of the study suggest academic and marketing implications.

This study investigated the flame retardant, anti-static property and wear comfort of knitted fabrics made of two kinds of composite yarns comprised of modacryl, antistatic PET, cotton and excel® fibers. A Low Oxygen Index (LOI) above 28 was observed in the modacryl knitted fabric specimens. The flame retardant was superior at the excel® fiber (including modacryl knitted fabric) than the one including cotton fiber. Anti-static properties of the modacryl knitted fabrics imbedded by 3wt% of antistatic PET fibers were observed by rubbing with wool fabric attached to the measuring apparatus, which showed a better anti-static property than the excel® fiber (including modacryl knitted fabric). Wear comfort indicated that quick perspiration absorption and the fast dry property of excel® (including modacryl knitted fabric) was better than one that included cotton fiber. Warmth keepability and breathability of the knitted fabrics indicated good results in the excel® (including cotton and the modacryl knitted fabrics). However, the tactile hand property of cotton fiber (including modacryl knitted fabric) was better than excel® fiber due to high extensibility and compressibility, and low bending and shear rigidity of the cotton fiber (including modacryl knitted fabrics).

This study is to understand the inner psychological state of consumers who pursue a retail therapy effect through fashion product shopping. Qualitative research on the whole process from the point of time of occurrence of shopping motivation to the end of shopping motivation was performed. The researcher became a virtual shopping partner during shopping and conducted a natural conversation interview using a mobile instant messenger program (Kakao Talk). After shopping, participants were asked to write a diary on that day. Collected data were analyzed by applying the grounded theory approach suggested by Strauss and Corbin (1998). Casual Condition, represented everyday stress and Contextual Condition indicated the self-healing consumption trend. Main Phenomena showed a mood change during the fashion shopping process. The sense of emancipation from the place, the satisfaction from the maintenance of social relations, and the sense of accomplishment through purchases were revealed. Intervening Condition showed the consideration in the process of shopping for fashion products, such as providing a try-on experience, price promotion, and involvement of a companion. Action · Interaction Strategy was the shopping behavior for the positive emotion increase and negative emotion decrease. Consequence represented a retail therapy in shopping for fashion products.

This study derives evaluation terms by analyzing the semantic relationship between design elements and sentiment terms in regards to fashion design. As for research methods, a total of 38,225 texts from Daum and Naver Blogs from November 2015 to October 2016 were collected to analyze the parts, frequency, centrality and semantic networks of the terms. As a result, design elements were derived in the form of a noun while fashion image and user's emotional responses were derived in the form of adjectives. The study selected 15 noun terms and 52 adjective terms as evaluation terms for men's striped shirts. The results of semantic network analysis also showed that the main contents of the users of men's striped shirts were derived as characteristics of expression, daily wear, formation, and function. In addition, design elements such as pattern, color, coordination, style, and fit were classified with evaluation results such as wide, bright, trendy, casual, and slim.

This study analyzed differences in awareness, attitude, and purchase intention for multi-brand stores among fashion lifestyle groups. A questionnaire survey was conducted between September 12th and September 30th 2016 with women in their 20s to 40s living in the Seoul metropolitan area, Busan, Gyeongnam area, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk area. Data were collected from 417 women and analyzed using factor analysis, cluster analysis, analysis of variance and a Duncan test. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the result of factor analysis showed that fashion lifestyle was divided into five factors such as individuality orientation, practicality orientation, conspicuous orientation, fashion orientation, and economic orientation. The respondents were classified into economic pursuit group, individuality seeking group, active fashion seeking group and practicality seeking group according to fashion lifestyle factors. Second, there were significant differences in awareness, attitude, and purchase intention of multi-brand stores among fashion lifestyle groups. Fashion seeking group was more aware of, had a positive attitude toward, and purchased more fashion products in multi-brand stores than other groups.

This study analyzed the expressions of racing girl uniforms that promote automobile brands shown at Seoul and Busan motor shows. The results are as follows. In each of the design components expression, the glossy and plain material, the achromatic color, and the dress style appeared most frequently in the uniform design of both domestic and foreign automobile brands. In the fashion image expression, sexy image appeared the most, followed by modern image, romantic image, active image, elegance image and ethnic image. Based on the analysis results, the following expressive characteristics were identified: First, sexy images were used in uniform design to express the streamline and speedy feeling of a car metaphorically. Second, modern image, glossy material, and achromatic color were used for a uniform design to express advanced technology and the future orientation of an automobile. Third, fashion images that match the automobile type emphasized the brand image of the car. Fourth, some of the manufacturers that prevailed in the automobile market promoted several automobile brands exhibited with a unified uniform design that expressed the design philosophy and concept. As such, the motor show racing girl uniform contributed to promoting automobile brand identity and the automobile industry.

Smart sensors and connected devices have changed the concept of garments along with IT technology convergent garments that transform the performance of basic functions. Various types of products have been researched and developed due to the increased interest in smart clothing; in addition, studies based on physical and mechanical properties have also been actively studied to improve accuracy and reliability. This study represents a basic study for the development of smart textiles based on motion recognition for the surfing practice of beginners interested in IT convergence type. A physical durability evaluation of conductive yarn according to sewing method was later carried out. This study is a conditional specimen sewn with cotton lower thread and 100mm pattern length based on the results of previous studies. The durability of the conductive yarn according to the sewing method was evaluated according to the sewing method. Durability was evaluated by two kinds of repeated strain and abrasion tests. The specimen with applied cotton in a lower thread · zigzag pattern · 2mm stitch size · 100mm stitch length was shown to have the most suitable durability for smart textile.

Mass-production caused by industrialization has led to environmental pollution; however, a potential solution to this problem is the Up-cycling fashion design belonging to the sustainable design category. This study analyzed the material characteristics of each brand fashion product by selecting 21 domestic Up-cycling fashion brands. The product types manufactured by domestic Up-cycling fashion brands could be divided into fashion clothing, bag, and fashion accessories. The materials used for each item included special material, waste fiber, waste leather, waste paper, and others. In the results of analyzing the material characteristics into the external characteristics and internal characteristics, the external characteristics included the durability with less abrasiveness and deformation as well as a mixture with other different materials, while the internal characteristics included a story arousing consumers' empathy, and scarcity without the same design due to the limitation of material.

In this research, the three-dimensional structural and colorimetrical modeling of yarn-dyed woven fabrics was conducted based on the Kubelka-Munk theory (K-M theory) for their accurate color predictions. In the K-M theory for textile color formulation, the absorption and scattering coefficients, denoted K and S, respectively, of a colored fabric are represented using those of the individual colorants or color components used. One-hundred forty woven fabric samples were produced in a wide range of structures and colors using red, yellow, green, and blue yarns. Through the optimization of previous two-dimensional color prediction models by considering the key three-dimensional structural parameters of woven fabrics, three three-dimensional K/S-based color prediction models, that is, linear K/S, linear log K/S, and exponential K/S models, were developed. To evaluate the performance of the three-dimensional color prediction models, the color differences, ΔL*, ΔC*, Δho, and ΔECMC(2:1), between the predicted and the measured colors of the samples were calculated as error values and then compared with those of previous two-dimensional models. As a result, three-dimensional models have proved to be of substantially higher predictive accuracy than twodimensional models in all lightness, chroma, and hue predictions with much lower ΔL*, ΔC*, Δho, and the resultant ΔECMC(2:1) values.

This study investigated the dyeing properties and bio-functions of cotton fabrics dyed with naturally fermented Ecklonia cava extract in order to compare it with a comparison of unfermented extract. Hot waterextracted Ecklonia cava was fermented naturally under the various conditions of a fermenting period (2-8 days) and amount of molasses (0.1-1.8% v/v); in addition, it was also tested for characterization by FT-IR, antioxidant activity, total polyphenol content, and anti-microbial activity. For dyed cotton fabrics, color strength (K/S), physical color properties, dyeing fastness, sun protective property, and anti-microbial activity were evaluated considering dyeing conditions. As a result, the fermented dye under fermentation condition of 0.1% v/v with molasses during 4 days was revealed as having a similar chemical structure to the unfermented one and showed a total polyphenol content with 32.88mg/g and better antioxidant activity than the unfermented one. As for dyed fabrics, the color strength value by K/S was the highest under the condition of 0.1% v/v of molasses during 4 days among all fermenting conditions. The dyed fabrics had a reasonably good fastness (except for light). Anti-microbial activity against K. pneumoniae was better for the fermented extract-dyed fabric especially with lower dye concentrations.
